we are in the east bay. look at concord at 33. 35 in livermore. usually we are much, much cooler here. with the end, we are looking at the numbers staying up. 46 san francisco, 38 redwood city. but it's cold in san jose at 35. later on today monterey look gorgeous for the third round of the pebble beach program. 39 right now. 33 in watsonville. just 30 in gilroy. so mostly clear and cool this morning in spots. in fact near freezing in some spots. sunny and dry over the weekend. looks like the mild weather pattern, it's going to last right into next week. we are getting close to president's day where we certainly could use some new snow. but we are looking at the system sinking to the south and east of us. this is what brought our rain on thursday, into thursday night. now we have the big ridge of high pressure once again, allowing for a cool and drying trend. so we have the flow below, the counter clockwise flow and the clock rice flow around the high allowing for the atmosphere to certainly stay dry and the jet stream to stay well to the north of us. that allows for the dry pattern a
cloudy skies. in concord right now, though, it's clear and 40 degrees. in the city we've got numbers already kicking up into the upper 40s. 48 degrees at sfo. 51 at oakland and 42 degrees at livermore. it's chilly in santa rosa, though, 36. clouds will increase tomorrow. the rain coming back on tuesday. that's the way it's looking up for. here's how it looks from the west satellite. we have low pressure moving in over the senior lucins that will be a system a factor for us by late monday, early tuesday. rainfall amounts though with this latest model runs have shown that they're backing down on the precip amounts. down now to about tenth of annual inch to maybe a quarter of an inch as this begins to weaken as it gets close to california. for today we'll have mostly sunny skies. it's a great day to go out and do something. enjoy the sun. enjoy the great outdoors. maybe the top of mt. hamilton. that would be nice. 60 at reading today. the central valley sunny there as well. temperatures in the 60s for the most part. 64 at napa. 64 oakland. 60

a little warmer into santa rosa at 65. 64 in concord and 63 degrees just slightly below average in san jose but feeling good. >> it is feeling good. we're excited. the weekend is here. unfortunately we have a problem spot this morning already in our traffic department. right now there is a traffic alert a fatal accident we're watching in redwood city. we are continuing to get some more details from chp. the road is closed right there at bayshore road and seaport boulevard so this may impact traffic heading into the port of redwood city. we understand it was a solo car accident. the person hit a fire hydrant and went through a fence. the person killed was ejected from the vehicle. so we're sending a news crew to the scene. we'll bring you a live update from that area of redwood city very shortly. in the meantime outside here's a live look at the golden gate bridge. everywhere else is "friday light" across the bay area. no other big hot spots on your major roads. so here's a live look at the milpitas drive westbound 237, flowing nicely out of milpitas

:00 hour. you can see some 60s already out towards san jose and walnut creek. concord checking in 60 degrees. santa rosa 57. napa still on the cooler side. at last check reporting 50 degrees. forecast headlines for tonight, patchy fog and clearing out there for today. and then tomorrow some patchy morning fog, a little bit warmer. a few neighborhoods approaching the 70-degree mark as we do head toward thursday and friday. the weekend no rain clouds just yet. just a little bit of a dropoff in temperatures. high pressure continues to strengthen off shore. as a result, the storm track being pushed up way to our north. with the high in place, though, going to hold on to some patchy fog first thing tomorrow morning. it's a very stable setup. the key here, we're locked in this dry weather pattern right on through the weekend. our next chance of some rain and the forecast models kind of getting a better idea. that could be on tuesday. but does not look like a big deal at all in materials of significant rainfall but -- terms of significant rainfall but still a switch in the weather pattern n

alto, 65. fairfield 64, concord 62, san leandro 62, 65 napa, at 64 oakland and los 60s for san bruno. 7 day around the bay forecast highlights of warmer weather. the warming trend kicked into full gear as we head into valentine's day. we'll be near the 70 degree mark by the end of the work week. temperatures are still above the seasonal average. the next chance for some light showers and a cold front will swing through on tuesday. the snow bomb back on ski report sierra tahoe notice no a base of 36 to 90 in.. north star base of 34 to 80 in. and scott 29 to 56. >> the bay bridge toll plaza, 16 to 18 minutes drive times if you are coming from the east shore freeway, last. 92 to the cemetery bridge, they still a good ride, a level as well minutes drive time. the golden gate bridge is also trouble-free. slowing for 680 south both into and out of walnut creek. the 680 southbound leading down to 84 former hotspot has cleared out. slow for 85 and 1 01 up but still a little lighter than normal. the north bay right has some delays but under 30 minutes from novato to the golden gate bridge. early

francisco is up at 42 degrees above freezing mark and concord. >> we have been following this developing story right now. crews are on the scene of a water main break in san francisco's north beach neighborhood. it is at the intersection of filbert and mason streets. kron 4 will tran is live on the scene. >> because they are afraid that the water may rush down that hill. they stated that it may damage the cable cars. they stated it may be a another couple of hours. here is video that we received before 4:00 a.m.. it said thousands of gallons of water down the street. it affected about 200 people within two blocks. they were able to restore power at around 5:00 a.m.. the crews are just your right now to monitor everything. as far as it calls for all of this is reallydetermined that that age and the possible cold weather that caused this pipe to burst. they stated that it just gave way and that the new pipes would not do this. they stated that it did not affect any of the businesses for the people who were worried about that. residential homes and those places received their water back a
of the union here on abc7 and abc7news.com tuesday beginning at 6:00 p.m. police in concord are looking for the person who slashed the tires on dozens of vehicles. a picture posted shows the damage to one of them, all four tires are slashed. about 60 vehicles in all were damaged. they were parked in the area of glacier drive and bel-air drive. they believe it happened earlier this morning. they are asking people to call in with any tips. in fremont, a disaster drill involving hundreds of state and local emergency workers. the horrific looking scene was actually a training drill for police, fire and medicalrespond. responders. it gave them a chance to practice working together in the event of a major disaster. operation chaos had people posing as victims to help stream line their operations. >> learn how to interact with the fire, paramedic, police and the natural disaster. we are expected to all work together which we don't get to do this type of training a lot. th is a big deal. >> the army national guard, fremont police and even the boy scouts took part in a six-hour exercise. >>> sti

is live in concord where she just spoke to the family of garrett hand. >> reporter: i just spoke with garrett hand's mother and sister. they are trying to keep it together, trying to stay calm, but they desperately want to hear from him. it's been one month to the day they say since they've heard from him on facebook, phone calls since then, absolutely nothing. it seems that he and his girlfriend have simply disappeared. inside the family's concord home, there are maps. the phone number to the u.s. embassy in lima, peru. they say they normally get a phone call at least once a day from the embassy there working with peruvian police to try to find hand and his girlfriend, 25-year-old jamie neal. she works at a bike shop. they left in november on a five-month bike excursion through south america. garrett's mom said she got worried when his regular facebook page stop so did his banking. then the u.s. warned of a kidnapping threat to americans in the cusco region where the couple was. that's when concerned turned to fear. they're reaching out to anyone with contacts in
